Sam Byram at right back
C&H
Sam Byram will be making a major pitch to clinch the right back position for himself this season with the backroom staff seeing him as the real deal.

Many are anxious that with Sofiane Fegouhli having arrived and Gokhan Tore on his way to the Hammers, Michail Antonio will be continuing at right back this term.

But Julian Dicks and the coaching staff are confident that young Byram will be making his presence felt big time.

Byram may face the same sort of wait as was experienced by Antonio last term but this is the season Slaven Bilic sees as his breakthrough campaign.

We were told by Tony Gale, a pal of Julian Dicks, that ‘The Terminator’, Slav and the back rooom staff rate the youngster very highly.

Galey said: “I was speaking with Julian last season and he told me that the lad is rated very highly by everybody so expect him to be breaking through.”

Honestly, if I were a professional footballer I'd think long & hard about joining us, the amount of injuries we suffer is ridiculous!

I just wonder whether we warm up enough before games?? Valencia commented on our training too after arriving at Everton...
Season after season this has been going on. All these injuries have to stem from something other than bad fortune surely?

Re: Sam Byram at right back
He grabbed the left hamstring straight away and barely moved.

Only at West Ham would someone throw himself through the air to head a ball and pull a hamstring.
Or have 4 full backs and 3 of them get serious injuries. Along with our 3 first choice strikers

BILIC: "Byram's injury is serious. It was his hamstring and it won't be days. Sam heard something and it's a big blow."

It looked much more than a tweak. He didn't even try to move after. I fear we won't see him until some time in 2017.

Sam Byram could improve and turn out to be a good player.
But at this moment is not the one who can deliver week in and week out good performances, he's still under average in terms of liability.

Disagree with that boycie Arthur wanders out of position whilst ball watching a lot there 3rd goal was a good example of this.

Re: Sam Byram at right back
arthur was class and as cool as a cucumber whereas they pinpointed Sam and bullied him. He was out of position a lot, he will learn from that one...or slip down 2 divisions

Re: Sam Byram at right back
Sam was doing the football equivalent of the moonwalk he looked amateurish and scared, but Collins was awful too they all looked like Sunday league players, and bad ones at that.

Apart from Antonio in the first half and Payet, every other player looked sea sick.

My brother just pointed out how similar he is to Roger the relegator in the way he backs off.
